Creating a brand kit in Canva can be a valuable endeavor, but it might seem daunting if you’re unsure of where to begin. Fortunately, I’m here to guide you through the process. Developing a brand book not only provides satisfaction but also significantly enhances the effectiveness of your work.

A brand book expedites the process of creating social media posts and marketing materials, enabling swift content generation. Additionally, by centralizing brand elements such as colors, fonts, and logos within Canva, there’s no need for constant searches, streamlining workflow, and ensuring uniformity across all materials. Moreover, the ability to compile these elements in one place aids in establishing a clear and distinct brand profile, reinforcing brand recognition and identity among the audience. If you’re eager to work smarter rather than harder, let’s delve into it together.

Firstly, you have to have a premium account. If you haven’t already, sign up for the Canvas premium version to access the brand kit feature. You can start with a 14-day free trial to explore its capabilities.

Once you’re logged in, navigate to the brand kit section. This is where you’ll compile all your brand elements for easy access. In order do to so click “brand” and make sure you are in “brand kit”. The view should look like this:

Now decide which title to choose for this particular brand kit and click “create”. Once you do it we can finally start to create our brand kit.

Start by uploading your brand’s logos. Canva allows you to upload multiple versions of your logo for different use cases, such as a primary logo, a secondary logo, or variations for different backgrounds. You can choose files from your computer by clicking “add a logo” or drag and drop your logo here:

Done? Wonderful! Now let’s move to colors. Use color codes to input your brand’s primary and secondary colors. Canva allows you to save these colors so they’re readily available when designing. Simply, just click add new”:

You don’t have to save these colors they’ll be saved automatically.

Pick fonts for headings, subheadings, body text, and any other elements you use consistently in your designs. To edit certain heading click the bottom on the right and after this choose fonts available on Canva (as you can see on the left):
